Johnny Depp looks almost unrecognisable as he shaves off trademark beard and moustache after decades

Johnny Depp, whose recognizable facial hair has long been a part of his persona, was spotted leaving his home in New York, clean-shaved. The Fantastic Beasts actor smiled and chatted with fans, giving off the impression that he was having a great time. He was dressed in a grunge-inspired jacket, a black vest, and a white shirt.

Johnny Depp won his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this year. And for his numerous fans, this wasn’t just any random victory. It was a supreme validation that Johnny never physically or emotionally abused his ex-wife. Many people expected Depp’s career to get back on track after winning the case. Rumors were suggesting Disney has been asking him back for the role of Jack Sparrow in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise, but those were quashed. Mads Mikkelsen, who took over the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise, has also said that Depp may take back the role.

We don’t know if he will touch the same heights of success again. But he is out and about and interacting with fans. Recently, fans spotted him in a new look. He has shaved his facial hair and looks radically different from his recent look during the trial.

Meanwhile, a movie on the highly-publicized defamation trial involving Depp and Heard called ‘Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial was released on the free streaming website Tubi. There was also a documentary series created based on the trials. It was one of the most trending topics.

It gained headlines in no time because of celebrity involvement, but also because of the dirty details of the marriage that came to light. The televised clips lead to fans making funky edits on social media platforms like TikTok.

Depp had sued Heard for an op-ed she had penned for the Washington Post titled “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change”. While she had not named him, Depp filed for defamation anyway. Depp was awarded $10 million for defamation.
