Jennifer Garner was trying to connect with costar Carl Lumbly but it didn’t go right. Instead, she ended up sending a selfie to some stranger. If you got an unexpected selfie from Jennifer Garner, it was the real deal, not an alias.
The “Camping” actor was trying to connect with former co-star Carl Lumbly but didn’t have his number quite right, she said on Instagram. “You know the one time you take a selfie to prove to someone you’re you?” Garner wrote. “And get a ‘wrong number’ message just as it’s gone out into the world? Well, it’s humbling, isn’t it?
The post has a caption showing that she had texted someone, “Carl―this is Jen G. Here comes proof.” The text recipient reverted with “wrong number”. But little did the stranger know, he/she was about to receive a selfie from Jennifer Garner.
She is still trying to track down a number for Lumbly. Lumbly played CIA agent Marcus Dixon alongside Garner’s Sydney Bristow on ABC’s “Alias.” “He was my total partner,” she remembers their “Alias” days together. “It was Carl and me together in the middle of the night, doing these crazy things, speaking languages, and just doing things that were so physically hard together.”
Garner, joined TikTok this week to celebrate the series’s 20th anniversary with video footage from a recent cast reunion party. She also gave a shout-out to the cast and crew who couldn’t make it to the celebration. “We missed everyone who was working and couldn’t make it in,” Jen wrote. “We missed you, [J.J. Abrams], (because I screwed up and made this happen on a night you were busy). But man, it felt so good to be together again.”
