Crystal Hefner, the widow of Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner, has announced plans to publish a memoir revealing the “toxic” truth about the legendary Playboy mansion. The 37-year-old told the Daily Mail that she never talked about herself because she felt obligated to “protect” her spouse, who died in 2017. According to the site, the book will be named ‘Only Say Good Things’ and will be released in January 2024. Crystal Hefner was Mr. Hefner’s third wife, whom she married in December 2012. She claimed she was subjected to “toxic objectification and misogyny” while living in the Playboy Mansion.
Crystal has experienced a transformation and now feels more comfortable in her own flesh
According to the Daily Mail, the model met Mr. Hefner in the mid-2000s when she was only 21, and despite their 60-year age difference, they married. Mr. Hefner died in 2017 at the age of 91. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Crystal reflected on her journey of self-discovery following his death, saying, “I have had to find out who I am without it being dictated to me.” Not only did I have to find my voice, but I also had to learn how to use it. My book is a tribute to the power of time in absorbing everything that has happened to me and embracing my truth.”
Crystal has experienced a transformation and now feels more comfortable in her own flesh, preferring a simpler appearance with minimal hair and cosmetics, which contrasts sharply with her beautiful Playboy days, according to the site. Crystal has been vocal against the dangers of the plastic surgery industry, in addition to sharing her experiences, after exposing that breast implants had caused her health concerns. She promotes natural beauty and cleansing her body, having had her implants and other toxic materials removed in 2016.
