Singer Ed Sheeran reveals wife Cherry Seaborn was diagnosed with a tumor during pregnancy

Never before has Ed Sheeran been this forthcoming about his life. The singer released a message when he unveiled his sixth album, to the public, explaining why he had been absent from the scene all this time. Sheeran disclosed that his wife Cherry Seaborn had a tumour diagnosis while they were expecting their second child. In 2022, Seaborn and Sheeran welcomed a girl as their second child.

Sheeran did, however, write openly about how his new album, Subtract, was affected by Seaborn’s illness and other tragedies. The couple found the tumour not long after Jamal Edwards, Sheeran’s best friend, passed away suddenly at age 31. Sheeran’s mental health was severely impacted by these two events.

After the tragic death of my best friend Jamal, who I considered a brother, I found myself in court defending my honesty and my career as a musician “He went on.

One month after making a suggestion about “turbulent situations” in his personal life in an Instagram post, Sheeran made the admission. “I realize I haven`t been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of years,” he wrote in February. Sheeran added that he was “spiralling through fear, depression and anxiety” at the time, feeling like he was “drowning” with his head “below the surface.”Working on his album was a form of “therapy” helping the American Music Award winner “make sense” of his feelings. 

“I wrote without thought of what the songs would be, I just wrote whatever tumbled out. And in just over a week, I replaced a decade`s worth of work with my deepest darkest thoughts,” Sheeran wrote.
