As actors took to the picket line during the SAG-AFTRA strike, scores of film and television productions were halted. While many sets were already closed due to the WGA writer’s strike, the actor’s strike has put Hollywood to a halt as negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers continue.
The following is a list of newly suspended productions, which will be updated throughout the strike
1. Beetlejuice 2
The Tim Burton project, in which Michael Keaton reprises his role as the crude ghost, is nearly finished in London but was still scheduled to film one more sequence in Vermont when the strike occurred.
2. Deadpool 3
Hugh Jackman was reprising his role as Wolverine opposite Ryan Reynolds in the superhero sequel, which was being shot in the United Kingdom.
3. Gladiator 2
The sequel to the action film, starring Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, and Pedro Pascal, was being shot in Morocco. It was roughly two-thirds of the way through filming and had completed work in its Malta setting.
4. Juror #2
The Clint Eastwood thriller about a murder trial, which was being shot in Savannah, Georgia, has been halted. Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Zoe Deutch, Kiefer Sutherland, and Leslie Bibb star in the film.
5. Lilo & Stitch
The live-action remake of the 2002 animated Disney picture was being shot on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Dean Fleischer Camp directed the film, which was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and was set to wrap in early August.
6. Minecraft
The video game adaptation, starring Jason Momoa, was set to begin filming in New Zealand next month.
7. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two
The Tom Cruise sequel has finished most of its key action sequences, but there is still more filming to be done. The film was put on hold as Cruise, writer-director Christopher McQuarrie, and the rest of the cast marketed “Dead Reckoning Part One,” which was released in theatres this week.
8. Mortal Kombat 2
The sequel to the video game was being filmed in Australia.
9. Venom 3
The third installment of Tom Hardy’s antihero epic has been halted, with the crew given notice on Monday in preparation for the strike.
