Ed Sheeran’s musical prowess has made him millions, and as a result, the ‘Bad Habits’ singer has paid the largest amount of tax of any celebrity in the UK. Ed Sheeran has been named the United Kingdom’s Highest Tax Paying Celebrity.
The musician paid £12.5 million in tax last year, according to The Sunday Times Tax List.
He paid the astronomical sum via Corporation Tax at Ed Sheeran Ltd and dividend tax on a £21.35 million payout he received.
Sheeran, 30, also has the seventh rank on the Young Rich List in the United Kingdom. The Sunday Times Tax List released the list. He has a staggering net worth of £220 million and is the ninth richest musician in the world, according to the Music Millionaires list.
Last year, Ed had a fantastic year with the release of his fifth album, ‘=’. It saw singles like ‘Bad Habits,’ ‘Shivers,’ and ‘Overpass Graffiti’ peak at the top.
The Official Big Top 40 charted ‘Bad Habits’ for eight weeks.
Other celebrities on the taxpaying list include David and Victoria Beckham, as well as the girl band Little Mix.
With a tax liability of £7.2 million, the Beckhams were only behind Ed in the taxpaying list.
Because of their dominance in the economic sector, they have a combined fortune of £380 million.
The girls are likely to be worth a combined £54 million. Also, they have declared that after ten years of fame, they will take a break after their tour this year.
