The makers of Harry Potter are now wondering if the magical spells work in real life. Well, we wish it did but unfortunately, no. In a little editing goof-up, makers of the Harry Potter Reunion may have mixed Emma Watson’s younger picture with Emma Roberts.
A social media user brought up a crucial misstep in Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. A reunion special commemorating the 20th anniversary of the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. It reintroduced the majority of the film series‘ main cast, including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. During a segment about how the three actors were cast in their roles as Harry, Hermione, and Ron, a photo of a young girl wearing Minnie Mouse ears was shown on screen, leading viewers to believe it was a young Emma Watson. But, here’s the catch: the Twitter user @vee_delmonico99 shared that it is actually actor Emma Roberts’ childhood picture.
It was fantastic to be part of the HP reunion
Not only this but also there was another gaffe in the reunion that the makers seem to have overlooked. The names of the twin actors, Oliver and James Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the films, were mislabeled during an interview segment. “I guess after all those pranks over the years somebody decided to get their revenge,” Oliver Phelps wrote on Instagram alongside a screenshot. “It was fantastic to be part of the HP reunion. Hope you all enjoyed it.”
Nonetheless, everyone makes mistakes and it is what makes the experience more memorable. Irrespective of these minor mix-ups, the reunion wasn’t just nostalgic for the unit but the fans surely did have an emotional roller-coaster watching it. Indeed making a magical start to the new year.
