Grammy Awards, honoring the best musical performances, get a new date. It will now take place on April 3 in Las Vegas, according to a statement released by the Recording Academy and CBS on Tuesday. The MGM Grand Garden Arena will host the awards. There will be live broadcasting. The show was rescheduled for Jan. 31 at the newly renamed Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles after organizers assessed that the recent rise posed “too many hazards.”
“We are happy to bring the Grammy Awards to Las Vegas for the first time and host a world-class show,” Harvey Mason, Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement. Comedian Trevor Noah will host the ceremony. The Grammy nominations for 2022 were out in November. Jon Batiste headed a field that included newcomers such as adolescent pop star Olivia Rodrigo and veteran crooner Tony Bennett, 95, who won his first Grammy in 1963. However, the Grammy Awards were supposed to return to conventional ways with a live audience. But the ceremony was postponed following “careful study and research with municipal and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community, and many partners.”

The Oscars will take place on March 27. A week before the Grammy Awards.
Grammy Awards were facing delay last year too. As did most big award events, due to virus worries. Jon Batiste, a multi-talented artist, is the front-runner for this year’s awards.
