Olivia Rodrigo broke one of her Grammy Awards when she accidentally dropped it on the floor minutes after receiving it. It’s identical to what happened to Taylor Swift at the 2010 awards show. Last night, she took home three awards: Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Solo Pop Performance.

Olivia was beaming with joy when she accepted the three major awards. However, she was embarrassed at her clumsiness and left red-faced in the winners’ lounge, when she dropped one of her prizes, breaking it immediately. It was a déjà vu to what Taylor Swift did in 2010 when she dropped one of her Grammys.

Biggest dream come true

The driver’s license singer, Olivia Rodrigo while accepting her first award said it was her biggest dream come true. “Thank you so much to the Recording Academy,” she explained, as she paid tribute to her parents, her friends, and her producer Daniel Nigro, adding: “This is my biggest dream come true. Dan, you are the best friend, collaborator, and person that I could ever ask for. This is all because of you, so thank you.”

While accepting her second award for the night, she recalled aiming to be a gymnast before turning to music.

“When I was 9 years old, I told my mom I was going to be an Olympic gymnast; even though I could barely do a cartwheel and she thought I was joking but I got super defensive, and so the next week, when I told her I was going to win a Grammy, she was very supportive even though I’m sure she thought it was just a little-kid pipe dream,” she explained.

Showing gratitude to her parents for the support, she entered the winners’ room to take a picture with her trophy, when she was given all three of them. However, she dropped one of them, and unfortunately, the gramophone’s top broke off.
