Kim Kardashian announced on Monday that she passed the Baby bar law exam in California. Thereby, putting her one step closer to becoming a lawyer.
The billionaire businesswoman had a long-held ambition to become a lawyer. Kim Kardashian passed her baby bar law exam in her fourth attempt.
“OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!,” she tweeted, referring to the First Year Law Students’ Examination, usually taken after a year of study.
“For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me.
“I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years. But I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!! (I did have COVID on the 3rd try w a 104 fever but I’m not making excuses.”
According to the State Bar of California, only law students who do not take the regular route, such as those who do not have the required years in college, must take the “Baby Bar.”
The exam will comprise four essays and 100 multiple choice questions on contracts, criminal law, and torts.
According to state bar statistics, only around a fifth to a quarter of test-takers pass the exam.
“I was told by top lawyers that this was a close to impossible journey and harder than the traditional law school route,” Kardashian said.
“But it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals.”
Kardashian will have to take two more examinations. Also, she should be of good moral character before she can practice law.
Previously, the TV personality advocated for criminal justice reform and clemency in individual cases. In 2019, she paid a visit to the White House to meet with former President Donald Trump.
Her late father Robert Kardashian was a member of the legal team that successfully represented athlete-turned-movie-star OJ Simpson against a double murder accusation in one of the most well-known US cases of the twentieth century.
“My dad would be so proud & he would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path now. But he would’ve been my best study partner,” Kim Kardashian tweeted Monday.
“I am told he was notorious for making fun of people who didn’t pass on their first attempt like him, but he would’ve been my best cheerleader!”
Kardashian is currently divorcing Kanye West, her estranged husband.
She applied to a judge last week to be “legally single”; to have her husband’s surname removed from her existing legal name, Kim Kardashian-West.
The couple has four children. Two of them were apparently in the audience with their mother last week. West reportedly made an impromptu plea for Kardashian to reunite with him in the middle of a song.
