If reports are to be believed then, it seems like Disney has offered Johnny Depp a massive USD 301 million deal. The deal is reportedly for his return as Captain Jack Sparrow. Disney had cut ties with Depp when the news of him being a ‘wife beater’ was circulating. However, post the defamation trial, things are looking good for Depp. There is no confirmation from either side. However, there are reports stating that Disney has offered an apology letter to the star.
Poptopic.com, an entertainment news website was the first one to release the information. Sources claim that “Disney has offered Depp a USD 301 million contract deal for him to return as Jack Sparrow in another Pirates film and a Disney Plus series!”. Furthermore, “Disney is very interested in patching their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two.”

“I know corporate sent him a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter but I’m unsure how it was received. But I can tell you that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow. So they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character,” informed the insider source.
Disney insider added, “Disney is prepping a USD$301 million deal that will include a sizable donation to a charity of Depp’s choice. The deal is reportedly for Johnny Depp to return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6; and a spin-off Disney Plus series about the early life of the Captain of The Black Pearl.”
Regarding Depp’s comeback to the franchise, Disney has not yet made any further indications. Therefore, it’s possible that this is hardly a rumor. After Amber Heard‘s op-ed in the Washington Post, Warner Bros also decided to drop Depp from the “Fantastic Beasts” series.
