Darren Aronofsky, the Oscar-nominated director, to helm Elon Musk's biography

According to production company A24, a top-selling biography of billionaire Elon Musk is being made into a film, with acclaimed US filmmaker Darren Aronofsky already involved. Walter Isaacson, the author of “Elon Musk,” had a previous book on Apple founder Steve Jobs adapted into a 2015 film starring Michael Fassbender. A24 confirmed to AFP that it had won a “highly competitive” contract for the rights to Isaacson’s novel, with “top studios and filmmakers also in contention.”

Musk is driven by what his former partner Grimes refers to as “demon mode,” which makes him incredibly productive and is prevalent among overachievers

Last year’s multi-Oscar winner Everything, Everywhere, All at Once was produced by the same business, as was The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser, who won Best Actor. According to an A24 spokesman, Darren Aronofsky, director of The Whale and other hit dramas such as Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream, will film and produce the Musk biopic. The book was released in September and, like Isaacson’s other works on Steve Jobs and Leonardo Da Vinci, rocketed to the top of bestseller lists. The tumultuous tycoon is described in the biography as a man driven by childhood problems, obsessed with delivering human life to Mars, and who requires that his workers be “hardcore.”

The billionaire’s early upbringing was previously widely known, but Isaacson focuses on Musk’s aggressive and manipulative father Errol, whom Musk despises. According to Isaacson’s book, Musk is driven by what his former partner Grimes refers to as “demon mode,” which makes him incredibly productive and is prevalent among overachievers. Musk’s tumultuous and impulsive acquisition of Twitter (now renamed X) has also received a lot of attention, with the billionaire perceived as struggling to realize that technology and pure willpower will not deliver miracles. A24 did not mention any timeframe for the film’s development or release. Another persistent topic in the book is Musk’s vindictiveness toward doubters and detractors.
