The Marvel villain Muse is reportedly set to be the main antagonist of the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again, according to a leaker.
While the news has yet to be confirmed, it would be an intriguing choice to go with, as he is one of the most enigmatic characters Daredevil has ever faced in the comics.
All about Muse in the Marvel Universe?
Muse is a relatively unknown Marvel villain who appears only briefly in the comics. While his origins and backstory remain unknown, he is a psychotic serial killer who thrives on chaos.
Little is known about him, and even in the larger Marvel fandom, he’s just a villain that many die-hard fans are familiar with.
Muse was created by Charles Soule and Ron Garney and debuted in September 2016 in Daredevil (Vol. 5) #11. He’s a relatively new addition to the Daredevil mythos, and in the comics, he’s given the Marvel superhero a run for his money.
In terms of origins and backstory, little is known about him, to the point where he never even reveals his name. Muse, according to Fandom’s Villains Wiki, believed that by murdering his victims, he was giving them a purpose by transforming them into “works of art.”
He has a twisted ideology, which makes him even more dangerous than one might think.
Is Muse the main antagonist of Daredevil: Born Again?
The source of his abilities is also unknown. He has superhuman strength and the ability to tear people apart with ease, and his body operates like a vortex, making it difficult for even Daredevil, who has superhuman sense, to track him down. Many people believe he is an Inhuman because he primarily targets them, but his true nature is unknown.
He first revealed himself to Blindspot when he led him into a warehouse where the dead bodies of his victims were displayed as murals. Daredevil would discover him when he discovered his second mural, which would lead Blindspot and Matt Murdock on his trail.
Muse would kidnap a judge and be pursued into the sewers by Blindspot in one of his first appearances. Muse, on the other hand, would realize that Blindspot had been following him and would capture him as well.
Daredevil would then track him down and bring him to justice. This would result in his arrest, but Muse would simply flee and vandalise much of New York.
Blindspot defeated him in one of their final encounters, but rather than accept defeat, the villain chose to control his own fate and jumped into the fire. His ideology arose from his inability to comprehend why the heroes cared so deeply about his victims and desired to show the world the beauty of their art.
While this has yet to be confirmed, DanielRPK, a well-known MCU leaker, has stated that he will be the main antagonist of Daredevil: Born Again. As of now, the only villain confirmed to appear in the show is Kingpin, so Muse could appear as a minor antagonist in the series.
The show is being reworked because Marvel Studios was dissatisfied with the previous work and plans to reshoot the series in 2024. Let’s hope we get to see Muse in the series.
