Country singer Toby Keith dead at 62

Toby Keith, the country singer best known for his song “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” died on Monday. He was 62.

He “passed peacefully” on Monday night, according to a statement from his official X account released on Tuesday.

In June 2022, the “Red Solo Cup” singer revealed that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was “receiving chemo, radiation and surgery.”

“He fought his fight with grace and courage,” Tuesday’s statement read. “Please respect the privacy of his family at this time.”
