Country singer Morgan Wallen was arrested on Sunday night after allegedly throwing a chair from the rooftop of a renowned pub in Nashville. He was later released on a $15,250 bond.
Worrick Robinson, Wallen’s attorney, verified the arrest for three felonies of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor of disorderly conduct
“At 10:53 on Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities,” his attorney, Robinson, told Tennessean.
According to Wallen’s arrest record, the chair fell off the rooftop when Metro Nashville police officers were stationed in front of Chief’s Bar on Broadway. The chair struck the ground not far from the cops’ position.
Wallen was seen laughing after the incident
Following this, bar employees informed the police that Wallen had thrown the chair from the sixth story, showing a video in which he can be seen “lunging and throwing an object over the roof.” According to witnesses, Morgan Wallen even laughed after the incident.
Wallen was released at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday after paying a $15,250 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court regarding the incident on May 3.
This event occurred just days after Wallen began his 2024 One Night at a Time tour. The singer is set to perform at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on May 2 and 3.
Morgan Wallen has a history of controversy
Wallen, who won the 2023 Billboard Music Awards eleven times, has a history of controversy.
In 2021, he appeared in a TMZ video, hurling a racial surl. Big Loud suspended his contract, and his songs were removed from numerous radio stations and streaming services.
Following a setback, Wallen donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition and apologized in a video posted on his social media platforms.
Wallen’s fame remained untouched by his activities
He was arrested on May 24, 2020, for disorderly conduct and public intoxication near Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville.
According to the arrest request, Morgan was evicted from the location at around 11 p.m. for “kicking glass items.” Police said he got into a verbal dispute with bystanders on the street.
However, Wallen’s fame remained untouched by his activities, and he released his third studio album, “One Thing at a Time,” in March of last year.
Wallen recently revealed that he will open a pub called “This Bar” in Nashville in 2024. The name of the pub, which will be located at 107 4th Avenue North on Lower Broadway, is based on his 2019 song.
