Christopher Nolan may have relocated to a new studio, but he is still working with his old colleagues. When news came that Christopher Nolan was contemplating a film based on atomic bomb scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, speculation quickly turned to who may play him. It is certain Cillian Murphy reunites with Christopher Nolan for his next film.
The title of the new film is ‘Oppenheimer’. The screenplay for the new film is based on a book. The book is by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. It is known as American Prometheus: The Triumph And Tragedy Of J. Robert Oppenheimer. The book portrays how Oppenheimer plays a key role in the creation of atomic weapons. He advocates for worldwide control of nuclear power and opposes the development of the far more lethal hydrogen bomb.
The facts were disclosed on Friday by Universal, which landed the project in September. It is Nolan’s first film in years not with Warner Bros. Universal Pictures is producing the project, which marks Murphy and Nolan’s fourth collaboration after Batman Begins, Inception, and Dunkirk.
“Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas’ films have shattered the limits of what cinematic storytelling can achieve. We are happy to work alongside them on this. This is an exceptional and extraordinary project. (Diazepam) We are grateful for their passion and commitment to the theatrical experience,” says Donna Langley.
Oppenheimer will be Nolan’s first film at Universal after a nearly two-decade relationship with Warner Bros. The Hollywood Reporter informs the filmmaker demands a $100 million budget. Total creative control, a roughly 100-day theatrical window, and a “blackout period”. Nolan requires the studio to not release another movie three weeks before or three weeks after Oppenheimer. The film will release on July 21, 2023.
