Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari are divorcing. Sam Asghari, according to several reports, has filed for divorce from his wife.
A representative representing Asghari, 29, declined to comment. Spears (41) has also not issued a statement. According to sources close to the couple, they have separated.
Britney and Sam first met on Spear’s Slumber Party music video set in 2016. After Spears’ conservatorship expired in June 2022, the couple got married.
Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Paris Hilton, and Selena Gomez were among the 60 guests who attended the Los Angeles wedding.
However, earlier this year, sources suggested that Spears’ inner circle had “grown concerned.”
Rumors that the pair was having marital problems started circulating in March, but Asghari’s rep, Brandon Cohen from BAC Talent, knocked them down at the time.
When asked about images of Asghari and Spears without their wedding bands, Cohen explained that Asghari simply removed his ring because he was filming a movie.
Before they married, Asghari helped support the pop diva during her mental health therapy in 2019 and her legal struggle with her father and conservator, Jamie Spears.
Britney broke her silence in June 2021 and testified in the conservatorship case. Before the hearing, Asghari, who donned a #FreeBritney T-shirt on his Instagram Story, had been the singer’s “rock.”
