The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas staged the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. The award event was hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs. The awards were presented to performers who had achieved success through album and song sales, streams, radio play, touring, and social media involvement. The Weeknd, with nominations in 17 categories, was the most nominated artist this year. Doja Cat, on the other hand, received the most nominations for a female performer this year, with 14 nominations. BTS was the most nominated duo/group in 2022.
The majority of the categories were announced before the telecast. Drake was awarded top artist, and Olivia Rodrigo was chosen best new artist, among the early winners.
