The Billboard Music Award is an achievement for any artist! It presented on Sunday. This year’s show was hosted by Nick Jonas and contained an array of spectacular performances. Here’s your snapshot of the night.

A spectacular Weeknd!

When I say the weekend ended with a bang, I mean it in more than one way. Sure, streaming the award show and watching power-packed performances are a great way to end a stressful week. But, The Weeknd exceeded expectations and took ten awards home! The artist won the 2021 Billboard Music Award for the Top Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Male Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist and, Top Hot 100 Artist.

Moreover, the song “Blinding Lights” won awards for being the Top R&B Song, Top Hot 100 Song Presented by Rockstar, and the Top Radio Song. Weeknd’s album After Hours is a masterpiece and bagged the prize for being the top R&B Album of the year.

Music award shows not only shed light on the hottest music of the year but also on new artists that have come up in the year. Pop Smoke is one such artist for you to keep your eyes…err.. ears open! The American rapper bagged the trophies for being the Top New Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, and the Top Rap Artist! His album, “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” won for being the Top Billboard 200 Album and the Top Rap Album for the year.

K-Pop power shines through!

The K-Pop megaband caught everyone’s attention once again. The music and dance choreography are always easy on the eyes. They won as the Top Duo/Group, Top Fan-Voted Social Artist, and Top Song Sales Artist awards. BTS’s “Dynamite” was the Top-Selling Song of 2021.

More music highlights

Bad Bunny was high on the radar with his wins in the Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, and Top Latin Album (Album: YHLQMDLG) categories. His collaborative work also won him the Top Latin Song for hit song Bad Bunny & Jhay Cortez “Dákiti”. Karol G won the award for Top Latin Female Artist.

In the genre of country music, Morgan Wallen won the trophy for Top Country Artist and Top Country Male Artist. His album Dangerous: The Double Album, ranked as the Top Country Album.

Gabby Barrett is now the Top Country Female Artist. Her song “I Hope” won as the Top Country Song for the year. Her collaboration with Charlie Puth for the same song won them the Top Collaboration in the fan-voted category.

Lyrical genius Taylor Swift won as the Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist. No surprises here, the new albums were absolute masterpieces!

Lady Gaga took the stage by storm as the Top Dance/Electronic and the award for Top Dance/Electronic Album with “Chromatica”.

DaBaby ft. Roddy Ricch’s “ROCKSTAR” is the Top Streaming Song and the Top Rap Song! A true rockstar indeed.

Kanye West won the prize as the Top Gospel Artist. His collaboration with Travis Scott in “Wash Us In The Blood” came up as the Top Gospel Song. Elevation Worship was Top Christian Artist and his song ft. Brandon Lake’s “Graves Into Gardens” was the Top Christian song for the year.
