Music superstars Beyonce and Billie Eilish will perform their Oscar-nominated songs live at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony on March 27, producers announced on Tuesday. This year’s Oscars ceremony will be held at Dolby Theatre. Beyoncé will perform ‘Be Alive,’ from King Richard, which is nominated for five other prizes, including Best Picture and Best Actor. The news comes amid reports earlier this week that the artist was planning a surprise live performance at this year’s awards.
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell will collaborate on “No Time to Die,” the James Bond theme song. Reba McEntire, a country music artist, will also perform “Somehow You Do,” a song written by Diane Warren for the film “Four Good Days.” Sebastian Yatra will play “Dos Oruguitas” from the animated musical “Encanto.”
“Down To Joy” will not be performed
‘No Time to Die’ has already received numerous prizes this season. It includes the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards, as well as the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Song Written for Visual Media from last year. If Eilish, who is 20 years old, wins, she will be the category’s youngest winner ever. She will surpass last year’s winner H.E.R., who was 23 at the time. Lin-Manuel Miranda might become the newest EGOT winner in this category. Meanwhile, Diane Warren could finally win a statuette after 13 nominations.
The nominated songs and credited songwriters this year are; ‘Be Alive’ from ‘King Richard’, ‘Dos Origuitas’ from ‘Encanto’, ‘Down to Joy’ from ‘Belfast’; ‘No Time to Die’ from ‘No Time to Die’ and ‘Somehow You Do’ from ‘Four Good Days’. All four are vying for the best original song at the Academy Awards. It will be in Hollywood and televised on Walt Disney Co.’s ABC. The fifth nominee, “Down To Joy” performance will not be there during the telecast. Singer Van Morrison declined because of his tour schedule, organizers said. (https://takes2fitness.com/)
