Bella Hadid was awarded Model of the Year at the 2022 British Fashion Awards. The 26-year-old model created history this year when she shocked everyone by getting spray painted with a dress on the runway for the Spring/Summer 2023 show of French womenswear brand Coperni.
It was undoubtedly one of the year’s high points, making it a memorable and widely shared experience.
Bella’s stylist Carlos Nazaro accepted the award on her behalf since Bella was unable to do so herself. Bella was unable to attend the occasion because she is presently battling Lyme disease.
Bella Hadid posted a video of her pre-recorded acceptance speech on Instagram. She wrote, “Thank you for the recognition, @britishfashioncouncil and my fashion family. I have too much to write in the caption! My gratitude goes beyond words but I tried my best!…. Thank you thank you.”
