It’s a festive time for British television! The 2024 BAFTA TV Awards, hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, celebrated top British TV talent in an elegant event at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
This year’s BAFTA nominations, announced in March, saw The Crown and Black Mirror leading the pack. Yet, when it came to the actual awards, Happy Valley and Top Boy emerged as the night’s big winners.
Noticeably absent from the winners’ list were two major American shows from the previous year, Succession and The Crown. Both series had a quiet night, with Succession managing to snag only one award, Best Supporting Actor for Matthew Macfadyen, while The Crown came away with nothing.
