Rema’s remix of Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” reached No. 12 on the global songs chart, the highest position ever for an African song. (“Calm Down” topped the Shazam chart for the streamer.)
Joining “Last Night” at the top of the global songs chart were Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” in second, SZA’s “Kill Bill” in third, Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex” in fourth, and another SZA track, “Snooze,” in fifth, followed by Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero.”
SZA, who leads the 2024 Grammy nominations, had the most-read lyrics on Apple in 2023 with her smash single “Kill Bill.”
Wallen’s “Last Night” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks this year, breaking Harry Styles’ “As It Was” record for the longest non-collaboration No. 1 run. It also tied “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber for the second-longest reign in the Hot 100’s 65-year history.

The history-making “Ella Baila Sola” by Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado reached No. 18 on the Global Daily Top 100, which also included Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “un x100to,” Peso Pluma and Natanael Cano’s “PRC,” and Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera’s “Bebe Dame.”
Replay, Apple’s alternative to Spotify’s Wrapped playlist, will be available on Tuesday, allowing Apple Music subscribers to interact with the music that was most popular on the streaming service this year.
