A new addition to the list of Thor movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is due to be released in July 2022. It’s named Thor: Love and Thunder.
In this chapter we see Thor being accompanied by the crew of the Guardian of the Galaxy. Fans have already been introduced to the mind-blowing trailer, just last month.
We think Thor, we think Chris Hemsworth. A Thor movie is incomplete without him. But this movie will introduce some new characters – Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman, and Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson.

Why call it Thor: Love and Thunder?
During a San Diego Comic-Con 2019, a panel confirmed that the character of Jane Foster will return to play a major role. Therefore, ‘Love and Thunder’ could refer to the relationship between Thor and Jane Foster. We can see a hint in the trailer itself. This means that ane Foster will not only rekindle her relationship with the God of Thunder. But will actually take on the take over as the God of Thunder as well.
About the movie
The last time we saw Thor he was with the crew of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Although the crew will be present in the movie the plot will not involve a lot of them.
It will take place around New Asgard. Valkyrie is on the throne as the ruler and is looking for a queen to share the throne with. Something attacks New Asgard, likely the villain Gorr the God Butcher played by Christian Bale. (https://rentalsfloridakeys.com) He attacks to destroy all of New Asgard out of his hatred for gods. Jane Foster gains the becomes the Goddess of Thunder, back on Earth.
While Thor is away who will save New Asgard? Well, we all have guessed it by now!
When will it be released?
The release day for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is set for 8th July 2022 in the United States.

Is Chris Hemsworth replaced?
As of now, there is no such news. Even though Jane Foster might gain the powers of Thor in this film, Chris Hemsworth is not done with the role.
To quote Chris Hemsworth himself “Are you crazy?! I’m not going into any retirement period (laughs). Thor is far too young for that. It is only 1500 years old! It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so”.
