Ed Sheeran said on Sunday that he tests COVID-19 positive. He will further conduct interviews and perform from his home while undergoing self-isolation.
Sheeran, 30, announced the news on social media just days before the release of his new studio album.
“Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for COVID-19, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram. “It means that I’m now unable to go ahead with any in-person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances as I can from my house. Apologies to anyone I’ve let down.”
On Nov. 6, Sheeran was going to perform as a musical guest on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
After Ed Sheeran tests COVID-19 positive, his representatives did not immediately say which shows he will cancel and which he will perform from his home.
Sheeran’s official website says he won’t be performing until April. “=,” which is pronounced “Equals”. It is the title of the four-time Grammy winner’s new studio album. On October 29, the new album will release. He revealed his 14-song tracklist. It includes the song “Bad Habits,” which he published lately.
Sheeran described his new record as “really personal.” After his marriage and the birth of the couple’s daughter, he said his life transformed in the last few years.
