According to a report by recruitment agency Michael Page, 86% of employees in India are likely to resign in the coming 6 months. The report suggests that 61% of Indian employees are ready to take a reduced salary or forego a pay raise and/or promotions. The decision is in exchange for a better work-life balance, general well-being, and happiness. This tendency will remain all over markets, industries, levels of seniority, and age groups.
“According to our data, not only has it already been taking place for the last two years sparked by the global pandemic, 2022 will only see it intensify,” Michael Page’s report stated. “With the clear majority saying a significant talent migration event is upon us in the next few months, we must be ready for it to increase.”
The Great Resignation is most likely to continue in 2022
Employees, however, resign for a variety of reasons. It includes advancement in their careers, changes in their roles or industries, dissatisfaction with the company’s strategy, etc. A corporate image is also significantly less important to applicants than employers believe. Employers certainly overestimate the importance of a company’s brand to candidates by 110 percent. 43 percent of those unemployed claim they have been jobless for more than six months.
“The surge in resignations is being driven by people searching for the right job at the right company with the right values and culture.”
However, individuals in the public sector are much more likely than those in the private sector to leave their positions. The analysis discovered that Indians are in the lead among the 12 countries in terms of employees intending to resign from their jobs. Followed by Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Southeast Asia. The Great Resignation is most likely to continue in India in the year 2022 as well.
