Emotional Reunion: Elon Musk bonds with father, Errol Musk, after 7 years, during SpaceX’s Starship launch

Last week, as SpaceX launched the Starship, a heartwarming event occurred when the company’s founder and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, bonded with his father, Errol Musk. According to The Sun, the reunion took place in Texas at Boca Chica. Errol Musk joined his ex-wife Heide and granddaughter Cora during the launch. Elon Musk met his father for the first time in seven years, according to the outlet. Starship is the largest rocket ever built, and its launch was one of SpaceX’s most significant.

The father and son had a strained relationship for many years, but eventually overcame their differences and met. According to The Sun, the last time they were together was in 2016, when Elon Musk and his brother Kimbal celebrated their father’s 70th birthday with him.

It was also stated that Errol Musk was startled to receive the invitation to the unveiling.

“The family cried. It was pretty emotional stuff. Errol was very happy to see Elon, and Elon appeared very happy to see his father,” Heidi told The Sun.

“They immediately sat down at Elon’s table next to one another and started talking as though no time had passed,” she further said.

Starship’s historic launch ends in explosion

Heidi described it as a “touching moment” in which the father and son communicated for quite some time.

The Starship spacecraft successfully launched for the first time. However, eight minutes after takeoff, the aircraft exploded above the Gulf of Mexico.

However, a SpaceX spokesperson hailed it an “incredibly successful day.” “Even though we did have a… rapid unscheduled disassembly of both the Super Heavy Booster and the ship,” the announcer went on to say.

Unlike the previous effort in April, the booster rocket successfully disengaged from the gigantic ship but then exploded, followed shortly by the spaceship itself. Elon Musk envisions Starship colonizing Mars one day.

When the two stages of Starship are merged, the rocket rises 397 feet (121 meters) tall, comfortably surpassing the Statue of Liberty by 90 feet.
