Elon Musk starts a new Twitter poll asking users if he should step down as the CEO

A poll on Elon Musk’s official account suggests that his time as CEO of Twitter may be coming to an end. On Sunday, the eccentric billionaire posted a poll on Twitter asking if he ought to resign as Twitter’s CEO. “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll,” tweeted Musk with ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ as the two options.

Musk continued his tweet crusade by remarking, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.”

More than 6.8 million votes had been cast as of the most recent update, with 57% of voters choosing yes. Musk had tweeted just before the vote that there would be a vote on significant policy changes. Musk responded to a netizen who said that he would step down as chairman of the board and that he had already chosen a successor CEO “Nobody wants the position of a genuine Twitter lifeguard. There is no heir apparent.” Twitter made another policy announcement over the weekend, saying that users will no longer be permitted to publish links to other social media websites in their messages.

Since he banned a few journalists for putting his family at risk, Musk has come under growing fire. Musk claims that journalists from major news organizations, including The Guardian, New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN, were expelled for allegedly violating the organization’s new policy regarding the disclosure of individuals’ locations.
