Elon Musk had affair with Google co-founder's ex-wife, Nicole Shanahan

Tesla CEO Elon Musk faces new allegations involving ketamine use and an alleged affair with Nicole Shanahan, the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin. According to The New York Times, Musk and Shanahan took ketamine together at a 2021 New York birthday party hosted by Shanahan. The information was confirmed through eight sources and documents.

Allegations

In 2021, Musk and Shanahan, who is also a potential running mate for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., were present at a New York birthday party. Later that year, they reportedly met again at a private Miami party hosted by Musk’s brother, where they allegedly took ketamine together and disappeared for several hours. Four attendees confirmed this to The New York Times.

Three sources informed The New York Times that Shanahan confessed to Brin about having sex with Musk and shared the details with friends and family. Both Musk and Shanahan have denied the affair, with Shanahan telling People magazine in 2022 that Musk was only discussing her daughter’s autism treatment with her.

Fallout and legal proceedings

Following the party, Shanahan and Brin separated, and Brin filed for divorce in 2022, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The divorce process took nearly 18 months, with reports of Shanahan threatening self-harm during this period. Their divorce was finalized last year. Shanahan expressed that the allegations were “utterly debilitating and humiliating,” impacting her career based on academic and intellectual credibility.
