CNN was forced to take an emergency commercial break after host Wolf Blitzer appeared to be on the verge of puking during a live interview with White House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin. On Thursday night, the “Situation Room” host got uncomfortable during an interview and appeared to choke on something. He listened in terrified silence as Mr Raskin discussed the Colorado ballot issue involving Donald Trump.
Mr. Blitzer, 75, fought to contain himself for a full minute until CNN interrupted his link, leaving Mr. Ruskin to continue his closing remarks on his own. At this point, keen listeners could detect vomit-like sounds in the background. CNN suddenly switched to a commercial, interrupting Mr Ruskin in the middle of his statement. The show later reappeared, albeit with CNN’s chief legal affairs journalist Paula Reid as host. “Wolf had to step away, but he’ll be back,” Ms Reid remarked before continuing the program.
CNN confirmed that Mr Wolf “wasn’t feeling 100% while anchoring Thursday night”
In a statement to the Washington Post, CNN confirmed that Mr Wolf “wasn’t feeling 100% while anchoring Thursday night”. “He looks forward to being back in the Situation Room and appreciates the well wishes,” the network stated. Mr Wold also later said that he was on the mend. “I’m fine! Thanks for the well wishes,” he wrote on X. “I’ll see you back in the Situation Room soon,” he added.
Mr Blitzer has hosted ‘The Situation Room’ for 18 of his 33 years at CNN. Meanwhile, other social media users responded to the video, wishing Mr Wolf a swift recovery. “I became concerned when I noticed you making strange expressions, went straight to commercial, and knew there was a problem in the Situation Room.”You’re the best; take your time and come back even stronger,” one person said. “He does not look well. “I wish WolfBlitzer a speedy recovery,” said another. “Glad they released an update. Watching him look queasy and then abruptly cut away was worrisome,” expressed a third user.
