Who was behind the US intelligence leak? “A young, charismatic gun enthusiast in 20s”: Report

According to the Washington Post, the leaker of highly classified Pentagon data is a “young, charismatic gun enthusiast” who used to work at a “military base” and is also “military base-experienced.” He shared the documents in a Discord chatroom, a popular instant messaging service for gamers. The people in this group refer to him as OG, and they told that he used to upload documents with odd acronyms and lingo that few people noticed.

OG claimed to know various secrets held by the government

A chat group participant reported that OG claimed to know various secrets held by the government. He claims that OG’s messages appeared to be transcripts of top-secret intelligence materials, which OG claimed he had access to while working at an unnamed “military base”.

According to the participant, OG could predict significant events, which “only someone with this kind of high clearance” would be aware of. He claims to have been in his early to mid-20s and was in awe of OG. He’s healthy. He is robust. He has a gun. He has training. Almost everything you might anticipate from a wacky movie, according to the participant, Washington Post.

The FBI is investigating how the papers leaked

When the epidemic cut them off from the rest of the world, the chatroom served as a hub for young gamers to connect. OG informed them about covert government operations and current affairs even though it was primarily a site for entertainment and gaming. He believed that by disclosing insider information, he could shield people from the unrest in the world and he wanted others to be worried about international issues.

None of the leaks, according to him, were “accidental” because OG was a wise man. The member claimed that the man’s papers included a variety of top-secret data, including information on the whereabouts of important political figures and tactical updates on armed units. He said that the materials contained everything you could imagine.

When the youngster who spoke with Washington Post first encountered OG in the chatroom, he was still a young adolescent. A different group member claims to have read those documents as well. They are both aware of OG’s real name and residence.

The FBI is investigating how the papers leaked in the meantime. A senior official overseeing the Pentagon’s internal review has also been appointed. Discord claims to be helping with the investigation.
