Here’s why you should get vaccinated

We all know that COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious implications and death due to the infection. However, the impact of the COVID vaccine on other diseases that lead to mortality was unknown. However, at a time when people are unsure if they should get vaccinated new research clears the confusion. Research reveals that death rates from diseases other non-COVID cases were lower than the unvaccinated.

The study, published in the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Morbidity and mortality weekly report. The study evaluated health records of over 6.4 million vaccinated and 4.6 million unvaccinated people in the US. However, the study only looked at deaths that were not related to covid.

Non-COVID-19 related deaths are now low

The study compared vaccines made by Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna. The J&J adenoviral vector shot is a single dose vaccine while the two mRNA vaccines have two doses. The study shows, out of every 1000 people vaccinated with the Pfizer shot, 4.2 deaths after the first dose. However, after the second dose, there were only 3.5 deaths. The numbers are much lower than the 11.1 deaths in the unvaccinated group.

Similarly, the recipients of Moderna shot show a mortality rate of 4.2 and 3.5 deaths for every 1,000 people. The data is much lower than the 11.1 deaths in th unvaccinated group. Finally, people who took the J&J vaccine had 8.4 deaths per 1,000 vaccines compared to the 14.7 in the comparison group.
