Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have been talking about having a “cage fight” for over a month now, and the Tesla CEO recently announced on his newly rebranded platform X that the fight will take place in Rome, which he describes as an “epic location.” He also stated that it will be streamed live on both Meta and X.
“The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in the camera frame will be in ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and the Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location,” Mr. Musk said in a post. A few days ago, he also mentioned that all proceeds from the fight will go to charity for veterans.
Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg, Cage fight: Pre-fight banter and suggested contest date
Last week, the Tesla CEO claimed on the social media platform that he was “lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight,” adding that he didn’t have time to work out so brought the weights to work. In response, Zuckerberg stated that he is “not holding his breath” over the anticipated cage fight with Musk, as he revealed that he had suggested a date of August 26 for the contest.
“I’m ready today. I suggested August 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed,” Mr. Zuckerberg wrote in the reply, adding, “Not holding my breath”.
It should be remembered that the two tech billionaires agreed to a “cage match” in late June. It all started when Elon Musk tweeted that he’d be “up for a cage match” with Mark Zuckerberg, who has studied jiujitsu. The following day, the Meta CEO requested that Mr. Musk send a location” for the anticipated fight. The Tesla CEO responded, “Vegas Octagon,” a Las Vegas arena where mixed martial arts (MMA) championship matches are staged.
This discussion between the two has sparked a social media firestorm, with many people betting on who will come out on top. It was formerly planned to take place in either the UFC Octagon in Las Vegas or the ancient Colosseum in Rome.
