Twitter takeover: Musk’s core team
Elon Musk appointed a core team to execute his plans for the firm following the $44 billion Twitter takeover. Musk had previously fired four top executives including legal executive Vijaya Gadde and CEO Parag Agrawal. Alex Spiro, a long-time legal representative of Musk and high-profile celebrity lawyer is a member of the new core team. The Harward Law graduate and partner at Quinn Emanuel also led the mass layoff at the firm.
Indian-born Sriram Krishan revealed he is “temporarily” helping Elon Musk with Twitter. The former Twitter employee is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), a venture capital fund investing in cryptocurrency. He was previously working as a top executive at Meta and Snap. Additionally, Sriram is passionate about crypto and shares his views on YouTube. He also co-hosts a podcast with his wife Aarthi Ramamurthy.

Jason Calacanis, a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and close associate of Musk is also a member of this elite group. He was the first to test the waters on paid verification, asking users how much they will pay for a blue check mark next to their name. Musk replied that he found the idea “Interesting”. Another member of the group is Jared Birchall, the head of the family office managing Elon Musk’s assets. He was formerly hired in March 2016. He is also the chief executive of Musk’s brain chip firm and the director of the billionaire’s tunneling firm. Venture capitalist David Sacks is the last member of Elon Musk’s core team at Twitter. He worked as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at PayPal. As per The Washington Post, he appeared in a Twitter directory with an official email and the title of a staff software engineer.
