A Glassbrook Elementary School teacher recently attacked the notion of the Woke Kindergarten program and has been suspended. According to Fox News, the individual, identified as Tiger Craven-Neely, was advised via email to quit his tasks until he is allowed again.
According to Influence Watch, Tactivist Akiea Gross founded Woke Kindergarten. The website characterizes it as a “for-profit consulting firm” that provides its clients with “critical race theory-aligned ‘antiracism’ services and materials.”
On February 8, 2024, district officials requested Tiger’s leave, and both his keys and laptop were confiscated.
Tiger stated in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle that he raised concerns about the program during a staff meeting. A teacher responded by describing him as a “danger to the school or the community.”
According to the Daily Caller, Tiger’s detention comes after Glassbrook Elementary School invested approximately $250,000 in the Woke Kindergarten Program last week. However, once the curriculum was introduced, the pupils’ grades dropped, and aside from Tiger, several other teachers were concerned about the program’s impact.
Netizens respond to Tiger Craven-Neely’s suspension following his criticism of the Woke Kindergarten initiative
While Tiger Craven-Neely was skeptical of the Woke Kindergarten program, the rest of the teachers have demonstrated their support, including Christina Aguilera, who stated that this was an attempt to experiment with something new. According to San Francisco Chronicle, she added:
“If we just focus on academics, it’s not working. There is no one magic pill that will raise test scores.”
As mentioned earlier, Tiger was sent on leave, but netizens shared their reactions to the same on X:
According to KMPH, the Hayward Unified School District superintendent, Jason Reimann, attended the program-related staff meeting. Tiger also addressed the other teacher’s response, stating that he could see a lot of frustration against him despite his attempts to explain himself. He added:
“I was shocked. This is my school. I did not do anything inappropriate. I was quite shaky.”
As soon as accusations of a drop in grades at Glassbrook Elementary School circulated, district officials rejected the allegations, stating that pupils have rarely missed school and there have been fewer suspensions.
Everything contained in the Woke Kindergarten program
According to the Toronto Sun, the Woke Kindergarten Program covers a variety of themes and is based on the notion of “abolitionist education.” According to the program, the current global education system is rife with racism and oppression, and it will never improve.
