Breezy Explainer: Can there be alien life in Milky Way?

Are we the only ones in the universe? Scientists are looking for an answer from time immemorial. Many researchers have attempted to find any trace of alien life in the farthest corners of the universe or say the Milky Way. However, the studies have not provided any concrete proof, till now. According to a professor at the University of California Los Angeles, There can be intelligent alien life on Dyson spheres around white dwarf stars in the Milky Way.

Ben Zuckerman, the professor teaches physics and astronomy at the University. Recently, his newly authored study was published. It focuses on an alien presence in the Dyson spheres in the Milky Way, which is a barred spiral galaxy. It is around 13.6 billion years old with large pivoting arms stretching out across the cosmos.

What are Dyson spheres in the Milky Way?

Dyson spheres are hypothetical constructions found in the Milky Way. They exist around a star. These spheres were named after well-known physicist Freeman Dyson and take in a huge amount of the star’s power output. The study suggested that if alien life exists on a planet, they would prefer to create a Dyson sphere around their star. Being that, this study of the spheres can point towards the viability of alien life on a white dwarf.

The study suggests that Dyson spheres can also allow scientists to understand the exact number of alien civilizations that exist in the Milky Way. The absence of any Dyson spheres can hint at the instability of the environment. Moreover, it also rules out the presence of alien species up to a certain extent. These are some of the new suggestions. There is a lack of data about white dwarves’ presence in the Milky Way. So, it can be an incomplete solution. Notably, the Dyson spheres do not have a straight correlation with life till now.
