Kaleidoscope, the non-linear Netflix series
The new Netflix heist drama is intriguing to TV buffs for its non-linear story plot. In the last few years, the streaming service has been coming up with several new types of content. While Kaleidoscope is told linearly, there is no exact sequence to watch the show. The series can be watched in any sequence and Netflix promises that this allows viewers to “enter the crime at different moments in time”.
The show is releasing on January 1, 2023, on Netflix and is created by Eric Garcia. The author and screenwriter’s novel, Matchstick Men was turned into a movie starring Nicholas Cage. His other novels, Repo Men and Anonymous Rex were adapted into movies. In addition to Garcia, Ridley Scott, Jordan Sheehan, David W. Zucker, Fred Berger, Justin Levy, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Russell Fine produced the series. Scott previously worked with Garcia for the production of Matchstick Men.
Kaleidoscope: More on the new series
Kaleidoscope is going to feature Giancarlo Esposito in a lead role. Esposito was previously famous for playing Gustavo Fring, the drug kingpin in Breaking Bad, and Stan Edgar in The Boys, an Amazon prime Video superhero series. He also played major roles in The Mandalorian and Better Call Saul.
The show is also going to feature Paz Vega, Tati Gabrielle, Mark Kendall, Niousha Noor, Jai Courtney, and Jordan Mendoza. As per reports, the series is spread over the course of 25 years and showcases the crew getting past the FBI and a powerful corporate security team. Each episode is said to reveal a part of the elaborate puzzle of greed, corruption, violence, betrayals, loyalties, and scheming.
