Spectre: Rolls-Royce unveils its first electric car

Rolls-Royce revealed Spectre, its first electric car. They are expecting to make the first delivery in the fourth quarter of 2023. Here’s all you need to know.

British carmaker Rolls-Royce revealed that it is going to start the first client delivery of Spectre in the fourth quarter of the 2023 calendar year.

“This car has all the features that the Rolls-Royce Legend has. The success of Specter will determine the company’s growth in the electric vehicle market. The company is working towards building a completely electric vehicle portfolio by 2030,” stated Torsten Müller-Autwas during the reveal. Müller-Autwas is the Chief Executive Officer of the British company.

While the price is currently not released, it is going to be between Cullinan SUV and the Phantom VIII sedan. The Cullinan has a starting price of $341,500 while the Phantom starts from $460,000 onwards.

It has 22 LEDs for gentle nighttime illumination and is built for greater aerodynamic efficiency. The all-electric car is built upon a modified brand’s ‘Architecture of Luxury’ principle.

The Spectre is a 2-door, 4-seater car and will have a wheelbase of 3210 mm. The car is in the final stages of testing, hence the power, acceleration and range figures are still being refined.

Preliminary data following testing by WLTP reveals Spectre will have a range of 320 miles.

While the car’s total power output and battery size are not finalized, Rolls-Royce indicated that it will be about 900 Nm torque and 585 hp. The car can propel from 0 to 100 kph in a matter of 4.5 sec.
