Texas- Dead cows mystery- Cattle left with tongues 'removed' and no blood in sight

Texas authorities are perplexed at the mysterious mass murder of cows. The mutilation and lack of evidence are brewing more confusion. Here’s what we know so far.

The mystery of the mass murder of cows

Six cows were found dead in Texas with no clear cause of death. They were mutilated and murdered and authorities found their tongues ‘completely removed’ with no sign of blood. On Wednesday, Madison County ranchers came across a dead six-year-old longhorn cross cow. As per a Facebook post by the county sheriff’s office, the animal was found along a highway, lying on her side and maimed strangely.

“A straight, clean cut, with apparent precision, had been made to remove the hide around the cow’s mouth on one side, leaving the meat under the removed hide untouched,” stated the post. “The tongue was also completely removed from the body with no blood spill,” it added. Officials reported no signs of struggle with the grass around the cow staying undamaged. Additionally, the area lacked footprints and tire tracks.

More on the following killings

Following the first incident, five more similar instances of cattle crimes were discovered. Moreover, as per the post, they were all “in different locations, pastures, and herds.” In all the murders of cows, the animals’ tongues were “completely removed”. Additionally, they were found lying on the side with their face cut along the jawline. However, two of the five cows had “a circular cut was made removing the anus and the external genitalia.”

The lack of blood and signs of disturbance were perplexing. Each of the murders occurred along the same state highway in Texas’ Brazos County and Robertson County. Curiously, both birds and predators stayed away from the dead animals. They were left decaying for weeks before being found.
