Zuckerberg and Musk ‘agree’ to engage in a cage fight

Zuckerberg and Musk 'agree' to engage in a cage fight

The biggest Pay-Per-View (PPV) fight of the century could be on the horizon. According to the social media posts of Twitter CEO Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg may soon face off in a cage match combat. The chain of events began on Tuesday, when Musk, in typical Musk fashion, replied to a tweet about Facebook potentially launching a Twitter competitor.

“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment,” Musk tweeted with a crying-laughing emoji.

A Twitter user advised Musk to be wary of Zuckerberg because the Facebook CEO has been practicing jiu-jitsu, a Brazilian martial art style.

“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” replied a cavalier Musk.

Though one could be forgiven for thinking it was all Musk’s bluster, Zuckerberg appeared to be up for the challenge. He captioned an Instagram story with “send me location” and a picture of Musk’s tweet. Following that, another netizen shared a screenshot of Zuckerberg’s Instagram story, to which Musk responded, “If this is for real, I will do it.”

The Verge contacted Meta for a statement, which stated, “The story speaks for itself.” Musk also appeared to confirm the fight by revealing the venue as “Vegas Octagon.” In a subsequent tweet, Musk joked saying, “I have this great move that I call “The Walrus”, where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.” Since the exchange, netizens have been giddy at the possibility of the world’s two most prominent tech entrepreneurs and billionaires going toe-to-toe in an octagon match.

Zuckerberg is a jiu-jitsu expert

Though it is unknown how skilled Musk is with his hands, his potential adversary Zuckerberg is no novice. Zuckerberg earned gold and silver medals in his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament in Redwood City, California, in May. The wealthy CEO posted a video on Instagram about competing in a Jiu-Jitsu event and earning medals for his team.

“Competed in my first jiu-jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team. Thanks to @davecamarillo @khaiwu @intense0ne for training me!” Zuckerberg wrote in the post.

Aside from martial arts, Zuckerberg enjoys surfing. He frequently uploads videos of himself surfing the treacherous seas. If the event goes ahead, it might be one of the most widely watched events in history, given Musk and Zuckerberg both have massive social media followings.
