Amid reports of Prince Andrew defying King Charles’ orders to vacate Royal Lodge, Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, has addressed the rumors of increasing tension between the brothers.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Ferguson acknowledged that she is “a very lucky guest” in the mansion but refrained from commenting on the alleged dispute between the Duke of York and the monarch.
“I’m a very lucky and very comfortable guest… but I tend not to get involved in brothers’ discussions and I think that’s the safest place to be,” Ferguson stated.
“Let the brothers discuss it themselves,” she added.
Reportedly, the King has threatened to sever ties with Andrew if he continues refusing to leave the £30 million property, where he has lived for over 20 years since signing the lease in 2003, sharing it with his ex-wife Ferguson.
King Charles, overseeing the royal household’s finances, has asked Andrew to move to Frogmore Cottage. This request arises amid speculation that Prince William plans to reside in the Royal Lodge as the heir to the throne.
Andrew lost his official duties after being forced to step down due to his association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The King is now considering reducing his brother’s funds, including his £3 million security bill
Royal novelist Polly Hudson praised King Charles in a Daily Mail article for taking action that the late Queen “could never quite manage with her favorite child.”
“Charles is being entirely reasonable, and kinder than many would be in his position,” she remarked. “But still, Andrew, a man who famously described himself as having ‘a tendency to be too honorable,’ refuses to budge.”

Amid the ongoing tensions between The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Royal family members, Ferguson highlighted the importance of family unity.
“Family unity is key, we should all unite in order to really feel better,” The Duchess of York stated.
Similar to last year, Meghan and Harry have not been invited to the Trooping the Color ceremony on June 15.
The couple will also miss The Duke of Westminster’s wedding on June 7, despite Hugh Grosvenor being their son’s godfather.
The pair declined the wedding invitation to avoid an awkward encounter with Prince William, who will serve as an usher.
