Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has indicated she might return to public life this weekend, according to The Independent. This follows recent reports suggesting she would remain out of the public eye for the rest of the year due to health issues, possibly related to her cancer treatment.
However, recent updates suggest a potential change in plans. The Princess of Wales is reportedly considering a surprise appearance at the King’s annual birthday parade on Saturday, June 15.
Previously, in a heartfelt letter, she expressed her regret over missing the final Trooping the Colour rehearsal (the Colonel’s Review).
Kate Middleton, who is the Honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, wrote in her letter to the Regiment, “Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment,” hoping that she would be “able to represent you all once again very soon.”
The Princess of Wales has been absent from public engagements for several months. On March 22, she disclosed her cancer diagnosis after undergoing abdominal surgery in January. The specific type of cancer hasn’t been revealed, but Kensington Palace confirmed Kate began preventive chemotherapy in late February. She has remained out of the public eye since then, with the palace stating she will only return to her duties when cleared by her doctors.
Last week, Prince William provided a positive update on Kate’s health, nearly three months after she announced her cancer diagnosis.
While speaking with World War II veterans in Portsmouth, England, a veteran inquired about Kate’s recovery. He responded, “Yes,” and added, “She would’ve loved to be here today.”
