Texas has released a list of the top 10 most wanted criminal illegal immigrants, including individuals charged with offenses such as sexual assault, murder, and terroristic threats. Governor Greg Abbott, alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), announced the list, seeking public assistance in apprehending these offenders.

New initiative aims to locate and arrest repeat offenders

The initiative aims to locate and arrest repeat offenders who have entered the country illegally and committed dangerous crimes in Texas. The public is urged to report sightings of these fugitives to authorities rather than attempting to apprehend them themselves.

How do I report?

To report sightings, individuals can:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive and clicking the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link under the “About” section.

Profiles of wanted illegal immigrants

Eight of the ten individuals are accused of at least one sex crime, with six offenses involving children. Notable fugitives include:

  • Omar David Zavala: Entered the US illegally from El Salvador, charged with sexual assault and making terroristic threats. Last seen in Spring, Texas, and considered armed and dangerous.
  • Castro Zubiate: A 26-year-old Mexican national facing charges of human trafficking in El Paso County. He jumped bail after posting bond.
  • Servando Trejo Duran, Jr.: A 62-year-old Mexican immigrant with a criminal record including homicide, burglary, and tampering with government records. Vanished from Baytown, Texas, and known to use several aliases.

Public safety concerns

DPS Director Steve McCraw emphasized the threat these criminals pose to public safety, stating, “Criminals from around the world who enter the United States illegally and commit crimes in Texas are a threat to public safety.”

The complete list, including mugshots, last known addresses, and descriptions of their crimes, is available on the DPS website. The DPS is enlisting the public’s help in apprehending these offenders before they commit additional crimes.
