Putin was 'moments away' from nuclear strike on Ukraine in 2022: Report

Classified Intelligence Warned of Imminent Nuclear Threat During Height of Ukraine Crisis

In a shocking revelation that underscores how close the world came to nuclear conflict, newly released information suggests Russian President Vladimir Putin was on the brink of authorizing a nuclear strike against Ukraine in October 2022, according to explosive details from former British Prime Minister Liz Truss‘s biography.

The biography “Out of the Blue” describes a period of intense crisis management in Downing Street, during which Truss spent her final days in office poring over weather maps and preparing for potential radiation emergencies in the United Kingdom.

Critical intelligence warning

U.S. intelligence services provided what they termed “exquisite” intelligence indicating a 50% probability that Russia would deploy tactical nuclear weapons on Ukrainian battlefields. Alternative scenarios included the possibility of testing a larger nuclear device over the Black Sea.

The gravity of the situation prompted British officials to conduct detailed analyses of weather patterns that could carry radioactive material across Europe. “Numerous hours studying satellite weather data and wind directions” consumed the then-Prime Minister’s attention, as Whitehall disaster planners grappled with the potential consequences of nuclear fallout.

Current escalation and Trump factor

The revelations come amid fresh concerns over escalating tensions in Ukraine. Putin has reportedly mobilized a combined force of 50,000 Russian and North Korean troops near Kursk, in what analysts believe is a strategic push before Donald Trump’s anticipated presidential inauguration.

Diplomatic controversy

Recent reports of diplomatic engagement between Putin and Trump have sparked controversy. While The Washington Post reported a phone conversation between the two following Trump’s election victory, citing “anonymous sources familiar with the matter,” the Kremlin has firmly denied these claims. “This is completely false information,” stated Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

Ukrainian President Zelensky, however, confirmed his communication with Trump on social media, writing: “I had an excellent call with President Trump and congratulated him on his historic landslide victory—his tremendous campaign made this result possible.”

Military assessment

British defense intelligence, as reported by The Telegraph, warns of imminent increased kamikaze drone attacks on Ukrainian positions. NATO allies assess that Putin is accelerating his military objectives before Trump’s scheduled January 20 inauguration.

A senior Ukrainian military commander reports that “tens of thousands of enemy soldiers” have already reached Kursk, intensifying pressure on Kyiv’s defensive positions.

The confluence of these revelations and current developments paints a picture of continuing tension in a conflict zone where nuclear deterrence and diplomatic relationships remain precariously balanced.
