A jury in the United States has sentenced Alex Jones, the notorious conspiracy theorist, to pay $965 million in damages to the relatives of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting, in which a shooter killed 20 children and six staff members.
A Texas court last year sentenced Jones to pay $49.3 million to the separated parents of the shooting incident. This is the second round of damages that Jones has been compelled to pay.
The verdict came after a three-week trial in Waterbury, Connecticut, during which both parties testified. Jones has recognized that the incident was 100% real after maintaining for nearly ten years that it was a staged government operation to enact gun control laws.

He reportedly said, “I’ve already said I’m sorry hundreds of times, and I’m done saying I’m sorry,” during the final round of testimony last week. The compelling testimony succeeded in making a few people in the courtroom cry, but the six-member jury was unmoved.
However, Jones’ issues are not yet resolved. Later this year, in Texas, he is anticipated to stand trial for defamation in relation to the incident.
Jones built a following using lies to draw visitors to his Infowars website for years. Free Speech Systems, the parent business of InfoWars, meanwhile, filed for US bankruptcy protection earlier this year.
