Apple Vision Pro can turn any surface into a touchscreen display

A developer familiar with the situation claims that Apple’s newest invention, the Apple Vision Pro, has the amazing capacity to turn any surface into a touchscreen display. This ground-breaking function, found by developer Steve Troughton Smith, allows users to select a surface within the headset’s field of view and project controls and programs onto it.

Troughton Smith used the Apple Music app to show the capabilities during his trial, but it can be adapted to any app or control interface. This means that users may be able to convert their desks into functional keyboards, providing a more practical alternative for long typing sessions.

Apple’s new ‘Travel Mode’ enhances VR experience during flights

Aside from this amazing finding, it has also been disclosed that the initial developer beta of visionOS features a hidden function intended just for the Vision Pro spatial computer. This feature, known as ‘Travel Mode,’ attempts to improve users’ in-flight experience.

With the addition of Travel Mode, Apple appears to be tackling the issues that virtual reality (VR) devices encounter in the tight surroundings and peculiar ambient conditions of an airplane cabin. Apple hopes that by introducing this mode, consumers would have a more comfortable VR experience while flying.

The Vision Pro headset, which was recently announced by the tech giant, is planned to go on sale early next year, beginning in the United States. This ground-breaking gizmo, which costs $3,499, promises to revolutionize the way users interact with virtual reality and augmented reality (AR) applications.

Apple introduced Vision Pro for spatial computing at WWDC 2023

During WWDC 2023, Apple revealed that developers all across the world would be able to use Vision Pro to construct a new type of spatial computing app. These apps would make the most of the infinite canvas, effortlessly combining digital material with the real world to provide unique experiences. The visionOS SDK enables developers to create apps in a variety of areas, including productivity, design, gaming, and others.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, stated that spatial computing opens up new opportunities for developers by utilizing the environment surrounding the user. This advancement enables developers to imagine new methods to let consumers interact, improve work, and enjoy various forms of entertainment. The company is looking forward to seeing the unique works of the developer community.
