'The Crown' Season 5 first look out! Makers recreate some of the iconic moments from the 1990s

After Queen Elizabeth II passed away last month, there has been a resurgence of interest in the Netflix series “The Crown.” The fresh images from season 5 will only heighten the anticipation.

The Crown’s season 5 first look has been released

The forthcoming season 5’s first look was released by the show’s creators. It is set up in the 1990s. It was the time when the British royal family was widely covered and followed due to the development of the media and the culture of the paparazzi. At the same time their two sons were growing up, Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage also broke down during that time.

The Royal Family faces what may be their greatest challenge to date as the 1990s come into full swing. Notably, the British public openly challenges their place in Britain.

This turbulent decade for the Royal Family has been well documented and interpreted by journalists, biographers and historians. As Elizabeth Debicki, who takes on the role of Princess Diana, said in a statement, “That’s the amazing thing about playing these people at this time because, in the journey of The Crown so far out of all the seasons, this is the most visual content we have of the Royal Family. In the ‘90s everything started to be filmed. Also, it was the birth of the 24-hour news cycle so there’s just this incredible amount of content that we have access to.”

“The Crown” will debut on Netflix on November 9

With this being the final cast change, Dominic West (Prince Charles) explained “I think people understand, because the cast has changed every two seasons, that this is not an imitation,” he says. “This is an evoking of a character.”

Imelda Staunton, who plays Queen Elizabeth II, expresses her hope that she has fulfilled her obligation to the audience in the same way as her character does: “What has been nice, and I hope I don’t prove them wrong, is people saying, “I’m really looking forward to seeing her as the queen. So, since I’ve already done it, let’s just hope it works out for them. Nothing I can do right now to stop it!

Each of the season’s important characters can be seen in the new pictures. Season 5 of “The Crown” will debut on Netflix on November 9.
