Elon Musk buys $35-million home in Texas to house his 11 children and their mothers

Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, is embarking on an unconventional approach to family life by planning to bring all 11 of his children and their mothers under one roof. According to a report by The New York Times, he plans unconventional family living arrangements in Texas and has acquired a sprawling 14,400-square-foot mansion in Austin, Texas, along with an adjacent six-bedroom property valued at approximately $35 million. The newly acquired mansion features a Tuscan-inspired design and is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Musk’s existing Texas residence.

Creating connections among his children

Musk envisions this unusual family arrangement as a way for his children to grow closer and be involved in each other’s lives. He believes that living in proximity will allow him to schedule time with them more effectively, fostering stronger family bonds. Since 2002, Musk has fathered a total of 12 children, though tragedy struck early in his fatherhood journey when his first child with ex-wife Justine Musk passed away from sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old.

In 2008, the couple had five children via in vitro fertilization (IVF) before their divorce: twins Griffin and Vivian, followed by triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai. After the separation, Musk entered into a high-profile relationship with British actress Talulah Riley, whom he married and divorced twice; they did not have children together.

Recent additions to the family

Between 2020 and 2022, Musk welcomed three more children with musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher. Their children include “X”—formally known as Exa Dark Sideræl—and Techno Mechanicus, referred to as “Tau.” Currently, Musk and Grimes are engaged in a legal dispute over the custody of their children.

In 2021, Musk quietly welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his brain technology startup, Neuralink. This year, he confirmed the addition of a third child with Zilis, further expanding his unconventional family dynamics. As Musk prepares for this new chapter, the world watches closely to see how this unique living arrangement will unfold.
